JETS FIRE OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR TONY SPARANO -
In a move unlikely to surprise anyone who watched the team play this season, the New York Jets have fired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano Monday night, according to an ESPN report. While it took eight days after the team’s season-ending loss to Buffalo for him to get the official word, Sparano seemed to know the end was near judging by the way he high-tailed it out of the team’s locker room after the final game. The Jets, who also parted ways with quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh, ranked 30th in total offense in 2012 and had plenty of well-documented issues with the play of quarterback Mark Sanchez and figuring out how to use Tim Tebow.
