STEELERS WR PLAXICO BURRESS OUT INDEFINITELY WITH TORN ROTATOR CUFF - Kickoff Coverage reported late last night, that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress was carted off the field during Thursday’s practice after going down hard on his right arm while trying to make a catch. It was reported that Burress suffered a torn rotator cuff. At the time of the report, the severity of his injury was unknown. But now we’ve learned Burress will have surgery on Monday to repair the injury and is out indefinitely. Head coach Mike Tomlin said the damage to Burress’ shoulder is “significant,” according to the teams’ official website. The Steelers were hoping Burress would become the teams’ No. 1 target in the red zone while tight end Heath Miller recovers from knee surgery. This injury may not only keep him on the sideline for the entire 2013 NFL season, but it may keep Burress, who turns 36 next week, on the sideline forever.
