BREAKING NEWS: JOSH FREEMAN TO SIGN WITH VIKINGS MONDAY - Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman has agreed to a one-year contract worth $3 million with the Minnesota Vikings and plans to sign with the team on Monday, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports.The 17th pick in the 2009 NFL draft, Freeman, 25, was released Friday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Eight to 10 teams inquired about Freeman, according to CBS Sports, and he narrowed the list.Fox Sports reported on Sunday that Minnesota and Oakland were the “front-runners” for Freeman Freeman and that the quarterback considers Minnesota the “most desirable option.” They also reported that Freeman already had spoken with Vikings coach Leslie Frazier and general manager Rick Spielman.It’s been a swift fall for Freeman, who last season passed for 4,065 yards and completed 27 touchdowns against 17 interceptions for a passer rating of 81.6. This season, though, Freeman has completed just 45.7 percent of his passes and posted a passer rating of 59.3 during the team’s winless start.But Vikings starter Christian Ponder hasn’t played much better. He also started 0-3 and posted a passer rating of 65.9, turning the ball over seven times.
